US drilling activity surges despite falling oil price

There seems to be no let up in the pace of well drilling in the US, even with prices well below $50/bbl.

US drilling activity continues to accelerate despite the falling oil price, as oilfield services company Baker Hughes reports the number of active rigs in North America up for 23 weeks in a row.
