China graphite exports, imports continue to rise in August

Imports of graphite to China have increased massively in 2017 with a large amount of amorphous grade coming from North Korea while an increase in flake imports from Africa marks a shift in the traditional flow of material.
In August, China
natural graphite exports increased 10.2% year-on-year (y-o-y)
to 32,897 tonnes, while imports, mostly amorphous graphite,
increased 50.6% y-o-y to 15,397 tonnes.
