UniteCR ’17: Syrah to start producing in October

Customers have been placing orders for the first batches of flake graphite that will be produced at the Balama operation, as the company says the current issues in supply from China may strengthen customer interest as production starts in Mozambique.

Syrah Resources’ graphite operation in Mozambique is set to kick off first production in October, the company told IM at the UniteCR conference in Santiago, Chile.

Commissioning of the Balama graphite mine is ongoing as the official opening will take place in a matter of weeks, following a slight delay.
