Future bauxite prices debated

Prices still stable as traders speculate over 2009 non-metallurgical bauxite demand

Views remain mixed in the non-metallurgical bauxite market as to whether demand for the material, which is used as a basic input in refractories production, is heading for a steep fall, or just experiencing a temporary lull. Prices remain in the range of $500-520/tonne.
