Following 2008 peak, Chilean nitrate prices dip as fertiliser demand slows

As widely expected, prices for sodium nitrate, a key fertiliser mineral, have finally started to decline after a rapid run-up in prices seen over 2008 as producers renew contracts for the next quarter.

Latest prices for Chilean sodium nitrate (about 98% ex-store) have been quoted at $550-570/tonne...
