Earnings drop 2% as weak demand and high raw material costs impact performance

FMC Corp., one of the world’s leading producers of soda ash and lithium chemicals, posted a decline in earnings for Q1 2009 on the back of weak demand for industrial chemicals and higher raw material costs.
