MHI plans Li battery plant

Nagasaki lithium-ion battery plant expected on stream in October 2010

Japan’s Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. (MHI) plans to start producing lithium-ion batteries with a capacity of 66 MWh (megawatt hours) a year, the equivalent of 400,000 medium-sized cells.
