Brazil to shorten mining rights

Brazil plans to enforce new law for mining & exploration rights by start of 2011

Edison Lobão, Brazil’s minister of mines and energy, revealed to IM that he is working on a new mining law which will reduce mining and exploration rights from an indefinite timeframe to 35 and five years, respectively.
