USS to expand frac sand capacity at Ottawa plant

Processing upgrade to enable 1m. tpa by end-2011 as frac sand market surges

In response to growth in demand for hydraulic fracturing sand (frac sand), US Silica Co. (USS) will embark on another upgrade at its Ottawa, Illinois, plant which will aim to achieve an overall production capacity of about 1m. tpa by the end of 2011.
