Uralkali confirms merger discussions with Silvinit

Deal could create Russian fertiliser mineral giant with over 10m. tpa potash capacity

Uralkali has confirmed that it is in discussions with Silvinit over a possible merger to create a Russian potash monopoly.

Rumours about the deal have been rife since billionaire Suleiman Kerimov and his partners acquired stakes in the companies in June this year.
