Global steel production rises 15% in 2010 to record level

China dominates but with lower market share as developed countries show recovery

World steel production rose 15% to a record annual level in 2010 as developed economies boosted output following the global downturn.

According to the World Steel Association (WSA), crude steel production reached 1.414bn tonnes last year, up from 1.229bn tonnes in 2009.
