Majority shareholder agrees to sell 50.4% stake to Swiss speciality chemicals group

Clariant will acquire the majority stake in Germany-based bentonite producer Sud-Chemie for €2bn ($2.71bn) after reaching a deal with major shareholders, the Swiss speciality chemicals producer said.

The group has agreed to buy the 50.4% stake held by One Equity Partners for €121 a share, while family shareholders representing 46%...
