Shipping rates firm but expected to stay low

Indian iron duty lifts rates, but Moody’s forecasts low dry bulk rates until 2013

Dry bulk shipping rates firmed this week on China having to import iron ore from further afield than neighbouring India.

However, ratings agency Moody’s forecast rates to stay low until at least 2013 due to the large number of vessels expected to hit the market over the next 24 months....
