Bromine market drives 33% Q4 profit increase for Israel’s ICL

Industrial Products division sees six-fold profit boost on flame retardant demand

ICL posted a 33% increase in profit for the fourth quarter of 2010 helped by robust demand for brominated flame retardants, the Israeli fertiliser and speciality chemical producer said.

Operating profit rose to $339.1m. compared with $254.2m. in the same period of 2009, while sales increased 16% to $1.42bn.
