Chile producers maintain high iodine prices

Market leader controls prices after Japanese earthquake creates shortfall

Chilean iodine producers are maintaining high prices as they cover for a supply shortfall created by the Japanese earthquake on 11 March, industry sources told IM.

Spot prices are in the range of $50-60/kg, FOB Chile, as prices hikes following the disaster continue to hold sway.
