China to appeal against WTO mineral exports ruling

Beijing set to hit 3 September deadline; maintains it is not breaking WTO rules

China will appeal the World Trade Organisation (WTO) ruling against its export policies for several industrial minerals, a government spokesman announced.

Last month the WTO upheld complaints by the US, the EU and Mexico that China’s exports quotas on 9 minerals do not comply with the world trade body’s rules....
