SQM to expand iodine capacity in Chile

World-leading producer looks to increase production by 2014 to meet growing demand

SQM is planning to expand its iodine capacity by 2014 after demand recovered stronger than the group expected from the global economic downturn.

The world’s leading producer, which has four operations in Chile’s Atacama Desert, said it would increase capacity to 14,000 tpa from today’s 12,000 tpa....
