Hackers were looking for data to rival BHP takeover bid says Canadian security firm

China-based hackers tried to acquire intelligence to rival the $39m takeover bid launched by BHP Billiton Plc on the world leading potash producer PotashCorp. of Saskatchewan Inc. in August 2010 by targeting Canadian law firms handling the deal, according to a press report.
