Amcol expands non-met chromite plant in South Africa

Producer has invested $5m in expansion, expects to start up in mid March

Amcol International Corp. is expanding and updating its South African chromite plant and hopes to be operational by mid March 2012.

Amcol is one of the largest producers of chromite for non-metallurgical uses such as foundry sand, refractories and various areas of the chemicals industry.
