Chinese rare earth prices continue downwards trend

Trading levels as low as economic crisis as overseas importers hold off

The prices of rare earth oxide exports from China have continued to fall through the first quarter of 2012 as, according to some sources, trading activity is even lower than during the 2008/09 economic crisis.

Buyers are now ordering less frequently in the anticipation of further price erosion.
