Penrice Soda makes first half loss of $3.3m amid weak demand

Australian miner hit by rail line closure; manufacturing, construction decline

Australia-based Penrice Soda incurred an underlying after-tax loss of A$3.3m ($3.3m) in the financial first half of 2012, compared with an after-tax profit of A$1.9m ($2.0m) in H1 2011.

The group reported a statutory loss of A$28m ($30.2m), which included a A$22.6m ($24.4m) impairment...
