Sulphur prices CFR Tampa drop 15% from 2011 year end

Phosphate cuts pushed sulphur prices downward; stability expected for rest of year

Sulphur prices have dropped by 15% from the fourth quarter 2011on the back of a weak global economy and weaker phosphate prices.

US Geological Survey’s (USGS) analyst Lori Apodaca told IM that sulphur prices were now around $170/tonne CFR Tampa, down from an average $200-208/tonne in 2011.
