Consolidation attracts criticism from within China as downstream industry targeted

China’s Inner Mongolia Baotou Steel Rare Earth Hi-Tech Co, the world’s largest rare earths producer, said on Tuesday that its net profit was more than four times that of the previous year in 2011, at renminbi (RMB) 3.5bn ($555m).
