Showa Denko pushes up alumina prices across the board

Japanese supplier says increase will ensure output; fused grades see largest hike

Japanese non-metallurgical alumina producer Showa Denko KK (SDK) is to increase prices from 1 June 2012 in response to high costs for raw materials and fuels.

 

Specifically, the price for aluminium hydroxide will increase $90/tonne “or more”, SDK said, while prices for alumina will rise $130/tonne and fused alumina...
