Agrium Q3 2012 profits fall below expectations

Drop due to US drought; Chinese, Indian contract delays; Vanscoy mine closure

Canadian fertiliser supplier Agrium reported lower than expected net earnings for Q3, which dropped to $129m from $293m in Q3 2011 due to severe drought in the US, a weak potash market and Agrium’s Vanscoy mine closure in Saskatchewan.
