Bromine prices stable but input costs climb

Albemarle reports year-on-year weakness; ICL hikes product prices

Speciality chemical producer Albemarle said it observed lower prices year-on-year (y-o-y) for both hydrobromic acid (HBr) and elemental bromine during the second quarter in 2013, but noted that prices had remained flat with Q1.

The US-headquartered company said that the relative weakness in prices had contributed to lower y-o-y profitability...
