Agirum profits drop 41% as fertiliser market remains uncertain

Weak prices across potash, phosphate cause sales totals to decline 24%

North American potash and phosphate producer, Agrium Inc., saw third quarter profits drop 41% to $76m as customers delayed purchases because of fertiliser market uncertainty.

A late growing season in North America also added to delays in crop nutrient purchases, Agrium said in its Q3 company results late yesterday.
