Summit Proppants receives permit for Missouri frac sand mine

Ceramic proppants manufacturer Saint-Gobain Proppants has entered into an agreement with the Texas University Energy Institute (EI) to research proppant behaviour during the hydraulic fracturing (fracking) process.

Together, Saint-Gobain and the EI will research the down-hole performance of proppants in fractured wells, first looking at geochemical interactions between formation fluids...
