Iluka end of year results paint a sorry picture of 2013

Zircon, rutile, sales volumes higher, but lower prices and higher production costs bite

Iluka Resources, the world’s largest mineral sands miner, today revealed that while its output was lower in 2013, sales volumes increased in rutile and zircon markets.

The company produced 68,500 tonnes zircon, 22,200 tonnes rutile and 116,400 tonnes of ilmenite in Q4 2013. Zircon production was up 21%,...
