UK government budget gives boost to manufacturing

Government spending on the manufacturing industry in the UK will help to keep businesses at home and export more. This is especially good news for minerals extracted for the glass, steel and paper markets, as well as other energy-intensive sectors.

The UK will support energy intensive industries, to encourage businesses to export more, build more and invest more, announced Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne in his budget speech today.

Osborne said the government will support manufacturing by implementing a £7bn ($12bn*) package to cut energy bills for British manufacturers...
