Increasing investment in the Middle Eastern logistics hub indicates confidence that the region will become a growing producer and consumer of industrial minerals, particularly those used in construction.
The Port of Salalah in Oman is planning to expand its
limestone and gypsum export
facilities after experiencing further growth last year.
The volumes of
general cargo, which includes dry bulk, grew by 7.9m tonnes in
2013 compared with 7.2m tonnes in the previous year.
