Oman’s Port of Salalah to expand limestone and gypsum exports

Increasing investment in the Middle Eastern logistics hub indicates confidence that the region will become a growing producer and consumer of industrial minerals, particularly those used in construction.

The Port of Salalah in Oman is planning to expand its limestone and gypsum export facilities after experiencing further growth last year.

The volumes of general cargo, which includes dry bulk, grew by 7.9m tonnes in 2013 compared with 7.2m tonnes in the previous year.
