IM22: Imerys demure over AMCOL loss but see opportunities in automobiles and tech

All eyes are on Imerys to see if it is looking to expand elsewhere after failing to win a bidding war for bentonite producer, AMCOL, in March. The company hinted that it is now looking to expand through product innovation although Moncino insisted Imerys is still actively pursuing M&A opportunities.

Imerys vice president of filtration and performance additives, Dan Moncino, told delegates at the IM22 Congress in Vancouver, Canada, that the company is pursuing internal growth through investing in R&D, rather than focusing solely on acquisitions.


Moncino’s comments came less than a month after Imerys lost a bidding war...
