Compass sees salt sales surge in North America

Compass Minerals expects its position as a global salt supplier to be strengthened as North America is hit by a harsh winter. Its recent acquisition of Canadian fertiliser producer Wolf Trax will also give the company access to a diversified crop market, consolidating its position as a major supplier of fertilisers.

US-based salt and fertiliser producer, Compass Minerals, anticipates positive results from its salt business in Q1 2014, on the back of a particularly cold winter in North America.
