US Silica sees 6% rise in net income as frac sand prices increase

Positive results from the second largest producer of silica sand in the US, serving the booming hydraulic fracturing (fracking) industry, will increase investor confidence in both the company and the sector.

US Silica has announced an increase of 6% in net income from $17.3m in Q1 2013 to $18.4m in Q1 2014, as industry demand for silica (frac) sand continues to outpace supply, keeping prices high.
