Valmet moves forward with pulp and board contracts in China and Brazil

Valmet Corp.’s recent spate of orders show that demand for the latest pulp production facilities are in demand in both Brazil and China. Pulp and board markets consume minerals such as talc, kaolin, gypsum and calcium carbonate, so Valmet’s news highlights potentially growing markets for producers of these minerals.

Valmet Corp. has moved forward with two major contracts in the pulp and board business in as many days, it emerged this week.

The company, which demerged from Finnish technology group Metso in January 2014, has now confirmed that it will supply Finland’s Stora Enso with a chemi-mechanical pulp (BCTMP)...
