Graphite closures: 40% of Shandong’s producers remain offline in China

22 companies fail to meet standards as environmental inspections continue; $5m invested in upgrades over Q1 2014

Government inspections of graphite plants in Shandong province, China have continued into May 2014, with 22 of the 55 graphite plants which were ordered to cease production at the end of 2013 still failing to meet environmental guidelines.

Of these 55 operations, 29 companies have now met the requirements...
