Lanxess supplies iron oxide-based pigments to golf courses

The development of a green pigment which can be mixed with silica sand to give an optically perfect colour in golf courses extends the product portfolio of the German chemicals producer and shows how sport can offer unique opportunities to industrial minerals producers.

German speciality chemicals manufacturer, Lanxess, has developed a pigment which guarantees flawless and optically perfect greens on professional golf courses, the company has said. The company’s product is used in the 72-hectare (0.7km2) course at the Gut Laerchenhof course, which hosts the BMW International Open golf competition in Cologne, Germany....
