Inner Mongolia to increase rare earths exploration

The programme to increase mineral exploration in Inner Mongolia and the long-term contract signed by exploration company Eastern Field with a manufacturing consortium show China’s commitment to consolidating its rare earths industry and addressing its internal problems.

Inner Mongolia’s government has announced that exploitation of rare earth oxides (REO) will increase to 59,000 tonnes in 2014, up 19% compared with the same period in 2013.
