RB Energy expected to miss 2014 lithium carbonate production targets

Unexpected commissioning issues encountered during a scheduled maintenance and upgrade shutdown at the Quebec Lithium site have led to further delays in lithium carbonate production for RB Energy, which says its “toes are on the finish line” for commercial production in Q4.

Following unexpected commissioning issues at its Quebec Lithium plant, Canada-based RB Energy has announced that it does not expect to reach its battery-grade lithium carbonate (Li2CO3) production targets for 2014.
