Mexichem’s profit still impacted by sluggish fluorspar demand and low refrigerants prices

Following a favourable verdict from the US court about anti-dumping and countervailing duties for Chinese fluorochemicals imports in May, the Mexican producer sees demand for fluorine-based refrigerants shrink in Q2. But it maintains optimism about its fluorspar business.

Mexican vertically integrated fluorspar and chemical producer, Mexichem, has seen its net income and EBITDA* decrease in Q2 2014, as low demand in its fluorochemical business continues to impact profits.
