Solvay sees growth in fluoropolymers, but rare earths still lag

Solvay’s results confirm that the market for polymers is an area for growth, which is good news for the chemical company as it recently invested in new technology in this area.
Belgian chemicals producer Solvay posted strong profit and
revenue growth in its H1 2014 results, released late yesterday,
with its advanced material business posting a 15% year-on-year
rise in REBITDA*.
Across the group the company posted net sales of €2.6bn
($3.48m*) and a REBITDA of €485m.
