Fake flake puts pressure on prices into Europe

The price of flake graphite into Europe is coming under pressure from lower-cost ‘fake flake’ grades, according to IM Data sources.

Blended material containing natural flake graphite mixed with synthetic material is reportedly being sold into the refractories and foundries sectors, putting particular pressure on larger mesh grades.
