Honeywell to increase production of HFO-based products in US

By setting a plan to increase production of low global warming potential (GWP) fluorochemicals, the US-based chemical manufacturer aims to comply with new regulations on HFCs and follows in the wake of other producers developing HFO-based products which could promote a rebound in fluorspar demand.

Global chemical manufacturer Honeywell announced this week that it will increase production of low global warming potential (GWP) products, including new hydrofluoroolefins ( HFO)-based chemicals.

The products will replace high-GWP hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) in refrigerants and other markets, including insulation materials, aerosols and solvents.
