TiO2 World Summit 2014: Only the innovative will survive

Reduced pigment consumption, TiO2 substitution and rising competition from Asian producers are putting pressure on the pigment industry participants to adapt to survive, a PPG executive has warned.

Although titanium dioxide (TiO2) market supply and demand have regressed to historical means, modest and sustainable growth is expected in the TiO2 pigment industry in the near term, delegates at the TiO2 World Summit 2014 in Montreal, Canada, heard yesterday.
