Halliburton to take more frac sand from Hi-Crush for next five years

The amendment of the contract between the oilfield services firm and the frac sand miner suggests that the US fracking boom sees no signs of abating and that contracts for sand are starting to become the norm ahead of spot purchasing.

Texas, US-based silica (frac) sand producer Hi-Crush Partners LP is to increase the amount of sand it sells to Halliburton Energy Services, it announced today.
