PPG coatings sales increase 4% as North American recovery continues

Higher paint and coatings sales were driven by improved demand from the aerospace and the automotive sectors. Gains were seen in North America and Asia, reflecting recent trends in mineral sands, which are used in paint and coating production.

Paints and coatings producer PPGIndustries has reported a 4% year-on-year (y-o-y) increase in third quarter 2014 net sales driven by continued gains in the aerospace and automotive sectors, the company said today.
