Eagle Materials acquires CRS Proppants for $225m

The latest acquisition marks a further step towards being an integrated frac sand producer as acquiring CRS Proppants, which has contracts in place and is in the process of expanding facilities, will potentially mean that Eagle Materials no longer has to buy in frac sand to sell to its customers.

US construction materials manufacturer Eagle Materials Inc. has acquired CRS Proppants LLC and its subsidiaries, which include Great Northern Sand LLC (CRS Proppants) for $225m.

This is a further foray for Eagle Materials into the frac sand industry, and the company confirmed that it is eyeing the growth opportunities...
