DuPont and Honeywell face antitrust scrutiny over HFO car refrigerant

The two US firms’ joint venture to develop manufacture the fluorspar-derived hydrofluoroolefin refrigerant R1234yf, which is the only car coolant compliant with an EU emissions directive for new vehicles, may have limited the chemical’s availability on the market and could see DuPont and Honeywell fined 10% of turnover.
