PotashCorp. earnings fall 11% as offshore investments fail to deliver

Though the company said that it saw increased activity from all key markets, earnings fell by 11% as PotashCorp. was hit by weaker contributions from its offshore investments. Despite this, it has revised its full year potash sales upwards, anticipating that the rebound in demand – particularly from Asia and Latin America – will continue.

PotashCorp. of Saskatchewan reported an 11% drop in earnings for the third quarter of 2014, to $317m, down from $356m the previous year, as the company was negatively impacted by tax expenses and weaker contributions from its offshore investment.
