DuPont reports weaker TiO2 pricing in Q3 but says volumes are back on track

The US chemicals company said that portfolio changes had led to an 8% drop in sales for TiO2 and fluorochemicals during the third quarter, but that plans to spin off its performance chemicals business are on schedule and will help boost profits in 2015.

US chemicals company DuPont has said that lower prices for titanium dioxide (TiO2) and refrigerants dented profits in its soon to be divested performance chemicals business in the third quarter of this year, but failed to prevent overall improvement in the firm’s operating results.
